Coverage for your business
Most businesses need a combination of these. We help you decide what fits your operations and contracts.
Commercial auto
Liability, collision, comprehensive, medical payments and uninsured motorist coverage for vehicles used in your business.
General liability
Pays for real or alleged bodily injury, property damage or personal injury on your premises or from your operations.
Business owners policy (BOP)
Combines property and liability coverage in one policy for many small businesses.
Workers’ compensation
Pays medical care and lost income for employees hurt or made ill on the job.
Group benefits
Health, life and other benefits you can offer your team.
Certificates of insurance
We issue general liability certificates when a client or contract asks for one.
Commercial auto insurance
Vehicles used for your business need the same core coverages as a personal car, but a business auto policy differs in many technical ways.
If the business owns the vehicle, the business name should appear on the policy as the principal insured rather than your own name. That avoids confusion if you file a claim or a claim is filed against you.
Whether you need a business auto policy depends on how you use vehicles, who drives them and whether employees drive their own cars for work. A personal umbrella policy usually excludes business liability, so make sure your auto liability limits are high enough.
What general liability covers
General liability can keep a lawsuit from turning into a financial disaster. Coverage can include:
- Bodily injury, including the cost of care and loss of services
- Damage to other people’s property, or loss of its use
- Products and completed operations: injury caused by something you made or work you did
- Contractual liability you take on under many kinds of contracts
- Legal defense costs, medical payments, personal and advertising injury
Workers’ compensation in Texas
Texas is different from most states: private employers can choose whether to carry workers’ compensation. Employers who don’t are called non-subscribers.
- If you carry itIt pays injured employees’ medical care and lost income no matter who was at fault, and generally protects you from most lawsuits over workplace injuries.
- If you don’tYou must post a notice of no coverage, tell new employees in writing and file a notice with the Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation.
- Separate policyA BOP does not include workers’ compensation. It is bought as its own policy.
Some contracts require workers’ compensation even when the law doesn’t. We can help you weigh the choice.

Business insurance questions
Straight answers to what people ask us most. Don’t see your question? Ask a licensed agent.
Is workers’ compensation required in Texas?
For most private employers, no. Texas lets private employers choose. Employers without it must notify employees and file a notice of no coverage with the Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation. Some contracts require coverage, so check yours.
What does general liability insurance cover?
It pays losses from real or alleged bodily injury, property damage or personal injury on your premises or arising from your operations, including legal defense costs, up to your policy limits.
What is a business owners policy (BOP)?
A BOP packages property and liability coverage for many small and mid-sized businesses into one policy. It does not include workers’ compensation or commercial auto.
Do I need commercial auto insurance?
It depends on how you use vehicles in your business, who drives them and who owns them. A personal auto policy may not cover business use, so talk with us about how your vehicles are used.
Can you send a certificate of insurance?
Yes. Use our certificate request form or call or text us at (817) 353-2017 with the certificate holder’s details.

He wanted to see what other insurances were available to him. Since he is receiving insurance through his retirement package she walked us through what questions to ask the human resource department.
